Accountant jailed for $5.3m fraud at Atlanta children's hospital

A former accountant, Ronald Deabler, has been sentenced to federal prison for his involvement in laundering over $5.3 million stolen from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The scheme involved a hacker accessing the email system of a vendor, tricking the healthcare institution into sending a payment to Deabler's bank account. Deabler, a 66-year-old former CPA from Atlanta, was found guilty earlier this year.
