Apple Nears Mass Production of M5 MacBook Pro, New Studio Display; Launch Expected Early 2026

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to begin mass production of its new MacBook lineup powered by the M5 processor, which will include refreshed MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. These devices could be unveiled as early as the end of this year or in the first quarter of next year, with Apple also planning two new displays including an upgraded Studio Display.

Gurman notes that, due to processor production capacity and supply chain factors, the debut of the new MacBook Pro could be pushed back to early next year. Unlike the M4, the M5 chip is expected to debut in the MacBook Pro line and may feature deeper integration with Apple Intelligence services. Market speculation also points to a new MacBook priced at about $599, and an OLED MacBook Pro may not arrive until 2027. In addition, Apple may refresh its external display lineup this year with a Studio Display equipped with a mini-LED panel.
