Google Extends FREE AI Pro Subscription for Students Until 2027

According to Google, the free Google AI Pro subscription first introduced in May 2025 for university students across the United States has been extended for an additional year, with active users now able to retain access until May 2027. The offer, which previously required a campus email verification, provides 2 TB of Google Drive storage and access to services such as Google Gemini 3 Pro, Deep Research, NotebookLM, Flow, Jules, and more.

The company notes that early purchasers who used non-official means to obtain the subscription faced additional identity verification requirements, and that further verification documents may be requested in some cases. Eligible U.S. students who have not yet claimed the offer can do so until 30 January 2026, with SheerID verification of active enrollment now required rather than an email address alone. This extension suggests Google may extend eligibility further in the future if circumstances allow.
