Romanian gets 56 months for Oregon government network hack

CATALIN Dragomir, a 46-year-old Romanian national, has been sentenced to 56 months in prison for selling unauthorized access to Oregon state government computer networks and other U.S. entities. Dragomir obtained access in June 2021 and sold it along with personal identifying information, resulting in over $250,000 in losses.

He was arrested in Romania in November 2024 and extradited to the U.S. in January 2025, later pleading guilty to charges of obtaining information from a protected computer and aggravated identity theft.
