Hotel and Casino near Las Vegas Strip suffers data breach, documents say

OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, located near the Las Vegas Strip on Tropical Avenue, was hit by a cyberattack sometime in early January, allegedly exposing the personal information of more than 4,700 people. The breach occurred between 8 January and 11 January and affected a total of 4,741 people, according to the Maine Attorney General’s office.

A letter sent on 9 October from Paragon Tropicana, Inc., PTI, a subsidiary of Paragon Gaming, to those affected said that around 11 January the company was informed of “unusual activity in the hotel and casino’s shared network environment.” The property is owned by OYO Hotels and Highgate Hotels, and Paragon Tropicana, Inc. operates the casino, according to the documents. The report notes the location as near the Las Vegas Strip, with the incident details provided by authorities in Maine.
