Tech Force: US Government Recruits 1,000 Elite AI Engineers with Apple, Microsoft, and NVIDIA Partnership

Tech Force is described as a Trump administration initiative to prevent the U.S. federal government from falling behind in the AI era, with plans to recruit about 1,000 elite engineers and technical experts into government service to upgrade national AI infrastructure. The program partners with Apple, Microsoft, OpenAI and NVIDIA, alongside AWS, Google, Oracle and Palantir, aiming to attract talent with Silicon Valley–level compensation.

Participants commit to a two-year term, with a two-way mobility mechanism that includes priority hiring by participating tech giants after completion and potential private-sector secondments. In terms of pay, the programme offers annual salaries ranging from USD 150,000 to 200,000, plus benefits, a package framed as balancing prestigious public service with ambitious industry roles.

According to information published on the program’s official website, the specialists will report directly to heads of federal agencies, exercising significant authority to deliver high-impact projects such as AI implementation, application development and data modernisation. Scott Kupor, Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, is quoted as saying the initiative seeks to reshape the government workforce to address modernisation challenges. 17 December 2025.
