Cloudflare rolls out Internal DNS for private networks

Cloudflare Internal DNS, now generally available, provides authoritative and recursive DNS services for private networks. This solution aims to simplify DNS management by consolidating public and private DNS on a single platform, reducing operational complexities associated with split-horizon DNS. It enhances security and visibility across DNS resources, eliminates the need for hardware appliances, and integrates with Cloudflare Gateway for Zero Trust security measures.

Internal DNS consists of two main components: Gateway Resolver for query resolution and policy enforcement, and Internal Authoritative DNS for managing private resource records. Key features include simplified split-horizon DNS management, extended security policies, and efficient resource utilization, allowing organizations to streamline their DNS operations.
