APPLE’S iOS 27, slated for unveiling during WWDC 2026, is expected to prioritise performance optimisation, vulnerability remediation and a refinement of existing design elements, with reports suggesting a fairly muted affair where artificial intelligence features will be foregrounded.
According to Bloomberg, iOS 27 will introduce a heightened degree of personalization for Siri and its chatbot interface, signalling a shift from utilitarian voice assistance to a more contextually aware AI companion capable of continuous dialogue. The update is framed as a “rehabilitation” of the system, aiming to improve stability and fluidity after rapid leaps from iOS 18 to iOS 26, in a move likened to the Snow Leopard strategy.
Developers will get a preview ahead of generic availability, with the initial iOS 26.4 Beta expected in the week of 23 February, offering foundational components of the Siri enhancements. Projected milestones for 2026 include a late March WWDC announcement, with iOS 27 General Availability in Autumn 2026.
