UAE to Implement Cyber Education Initiative

UAE to Implement Cyber Education Initiative aims to teach cybersecurity across Grades 1–12, with the programme starting in the 2025-2026 academic year.

The ministry will introduce teaching guides in English and provide practical instruction to improve cybersecurity hygiene, tailoring lessons to different age groups: Grades 1–3 for online safety basics, Grade 4 for STREAM projects, Grades 5–8 for risk and protection concepts, and Grades 9–12 for advanced modules on Internet infrastructures and future study preparation.

The curriculum changes form part of the UAE’s broader push to raise digital literacy and tech skills among students to address rising online threats and demand for cybersecurity workers. Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti is noted as having played a key role in the initiative, according to MSN. The piece also notes the UAE’s ongoing emphasis on cybersecurity, including participation in a fourth annual Cyber Wargaming exercise testing banks and financial services across the region.
