AUTHORITIES in the Netherlands have arrested two men for allegedly providing bulletproof hosting services to Russian threat actors, evading EU sanctions. An investigation revealed that Youssef Z. and Andrey N. facilitated cyberattacks against EU targets by maintaining server infrastructures for a company linked to Russian hackers.
The Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) confiscated servers, laptops, and phones during the operation and stated that the sanctioned web hosting provider had been used to enable disinformation and cyber interference. The arrests highlight ongoing international efforts to tackle cybercrime linked to state-sponsored activities.
