BK Technologies Data Breach, IT Systems Compromised, Data Stolen
BK Technologies Corporation, a Florida-based communications equipment manufacturer, disclosed a cybersecurity incident that compromised its IT systems and potentially exposed employee data. The company filed an SEC Form 8-K on 6 October 2025, revealing that attackers gained unauthorized access to sensitive information in late September, with the breach first detected on 20 September 2025.
The Nevada-based company trades on NYSE American under the ticker BKTI and acted quickly to contain the incident, isolating affected systems and engaging external cybersecurity experts. The investigation found that an unauthorized third party infiltrated the network and accessed non-public information, with the breach potentially including current and former employee data; BK Technologies has since removed the attackers and restored access to compromised information.
Despite the incident, there was minimal disruption to core operations, and only a limited number of non-critical systems experienced minor interruptions. The firm has notified law enforcement, plans to inform affected parties and regulatory bodies as appropriate, and expects insurance to reimburse a significant portion of direct costs. According to SEC Form 8-K, the company cautions that the final impact remains under investigation.
