146,000 Impacted by Delta Dental of Virginia Data Breach

Delta Dental of Virginia (DDVA) has notified approximately 146,000 individuals about a data breach involving the compromise of an email account. The breach occurred between March 21 and April 23, where a threat actor accessed emails and attachments containing sensitive patient data, including names, Social Security numbers, and protected health information. DDVA's investigation confirmed that 145,918 individuals were affected, but there is no evidence of misuse of the compromised information.

To mitigate the impact, DDVA is offering 12 months of free identity protection and credit monitoring services to those affected. DDVA is a not-for-profit organization based in Roanoke, Virginia, providing dental and vision plans.
