250,000 Affected by Data Breach at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital

CyberSIXT Evidence Panel Source marked as original reporting

SECURITYWEEK reports that 250,000 people were notified that their personal and health information was compromised in a data breach at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, with the incident occurring on 31 January 2026 after a threat actor hacked the hospital’s internal network. The hospital says the potentially accessed data includes names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical record numbers, account numbers, health plan beneficiary numbers, and photographs.

It also notes that the Maine Attorney General’s Office was alerted that the hackers likely accessed the information of 257,073 individuals. The hospital emphasises that there is no evidence at this time that any personal or health information has been misused as a result of the incident. NMH resecured its computer network, hardened security, and notified law enforcement, but did not share details on the threat actor responsible, and SecurityWeek has not seen any known ransomware groups claiming responsibility.
