Switching Teams: iOS 26.3 Beta Adds Official “Transfer to Android” Data Migration Option
According to Apple’s description, the newly released iOS 26.3 beta adds a “Transfer to Android” option in Settings, allowing users to migrate their entire dataset to an Android system. Under Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone, the feature can move apps, photos, messages and contacts, while data such as Health, lists of Bluetooth-paired devices and locked notes are excluded.
Both devices must be running the latest software, and the iPhone must be Bluetooth-enabled; wireless transfers can be authenticated with a session ID and pairing code, or by scanning a QR code displayed on the Android device. The feature is available globally rather than being EU-restricted, with the EU’s Digital Markets Act cited as a driver behind Apple’s development.
The report also notes that Google’s SIM Manager earlier introduced eSIM transfer support from iPhone to Android, and iOS 26 adds eSIM migration to Android.
