The Logitech Fix: How to Restore Your Broken Mac Mouse Settings (Jan 2026)
On 8 January 2026, SecurityOnline[.]info reported that Logitech’s Logi Options+ and G HUB macOS software suites suffered a widespread service disruption caused by the expiration of the firm’s Apple Developer Certificate. Under Apple’s security protocols, an expired certificate is deemed untrusted and can cause background processes to be blocked, disrupting personalised mouse configurations for millions of macOS users.
Logitech has since issued software updates with a renewed certificate, and affected users must now manually download and perform an “over-the-top” installation to restore functionality. The advisory warns users not to uninstall the existing software, as doing so will permanently erase custom configurations unless a prior backup has been secured.
Two download links are provided for macOS users: Logi Options+ and G HUB installers, with guidance to exit the installer if a notification states the software already exists. The issue is exclusive to macOS; Windows iterations of Logi Options+ are unaffected.
