Only 24% Of organizations Test Identity Recovery Every Six Months

ONLY 24% of organisations test their identity disaster recovery plans every six months, according to new research which examined how businesses prepare for identity-focused cyber-attacks. The data comes from Quest Software’s latest report, a global survey of 650 IT and security practitioners and executives, the study found that many organisations emphasise preventative controls and threat detection while neglecting response and recovery readiness.

According to Quest Software’s report, 24% test identity disaster recovery every 6 months, 44% conduct tests once a year, 8% test every 2 years and 24% never test their recovery plans. The findings also showed that organisations regularly rehearsing recovery tend to experience shorter outages and lower disruption during identity-related incidents, while nearly 80% remain vulnerable due to complexity and insufficient tools.

The article notes that ITDR adoption is rising, with 57% of organisations now operating an ITDR programme, up from 48% the previous year, and 92% of organisations with an existing programme reporting at least partial benefits.
