Seagate Exos 4U100 Unveiled: 3.2 PB Storage Density for AI and Edge Data Centers
Seagate has unveiled its next-generation edge-enterprise storage solutions, the Exos 4U100 and 4U74 JBOD systems, designed for data centres and edge environments. The Exos 4U100 delivers a remarkable 3.2 PB of storage in a single high-density chassis, aimed at generative AI and distributed storage workloads.
The systems use a SAS-4 JBOD architecture and incorporate Seagate’s Mozaic HAMR technology, with Seagate emphasising suitability for petabyte-scale AI tasks and continuous data ingestion alongside long-term archival. Melyssa Banda, Seagate’s Senior Vice President of Edge Storage and Services, said the aim is to help enterprises preserve more data for longer to derive future value.
Additional hardware highlights include a 70% improvement in cooling performance and a 30% reduction in power consumption versus the previous generation, plus flexible deployment options with SAS or SATA configurations and a fully tool-less design. The Exos 4U100 and 4U74 are slated to become available next quarter through Seagate’s global network of authorised partners, and the company will showcase the platforms at SC25, held from 17 to 20 November.
