US Posts $10 Million Bounty for Iranian Hackers

The US government has announced rewards of up to $10 million for information on members of the Iranian hacking group known as Emennet Pasargad, according to DataBreaches[.]Net. The group has previously been identified by several names, including Aria Sepehr Ayandehsazan (ASA), Ayandeh Sazan Sepehr Arya (ASSA), Eeleyanet Gostar, and Net Peygard Samavat Company, with the US now referring to it as Shahid Shushtari.

In the private sector, the group has also been known as Cotton Sandstorm, Marnanbridge, and Haywire Kitten. The US, which has been tracking the group’s activities since 2020, says Shahid Shushtari is an organisation operating under Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Cyber-Electronic Command (IRGC-CEC). Read more at Security Week, according to which the rewards were announced roughly a year after a US-Israel joint advisory described the group’s activities.
