Cybereason Acquired by MSSP Giant LevelBlue

According to SecurityWeek, LevelBlue, one of the world’s largest managed security service providers, announced the acquisition of Cybereason, described as an extended detection and response powerhouse. This is LevelBlue’s third acquisition this year, following Trustwave and Aon’s Cybersecurity & IP Litigation Consulting groups. Cybereason’s XDR technology and DFIR capabilities will be integrated into LevelBlue’s portfolio of managed security services.

Current Cybereason backers SoftBank Corp., SoftBank Vision Fund 2, and Liberty Strategic Capital will become investors in LevelBlue, though financial details have not been disclosed. Cybereason CEO Manish Narula said the acquisition strengthens their capabilities across XDR, MDR, offensive security, DFIR and cybersecurity consulting services, helping to unlock value for clients and their cyber insurance partners globally. LevelBlue is described as an AT&T Cybersecurity spinoff formed from an alliance between AT&T and Will Jam Ventures.
