Agents built into your workflow: Get Security Copilot with Microsoft 365 E5

According to Microsoft Security Blog, security agents are being embedded in the everyday flow of work, with Security Copilot expanding the Microsoft 365 E5 security stack by adding built-in agents that act as a force multiplier across Defender, Entra, Intune and Purview. A rollout begins today for existing Security Copilot customers with Microsoft 365 E5 and will continue in the coming months for all such customers, with existing Security Copilot users able to start today at no additional cost.

The update expands the agent portfolio to more than 40 new Microsoft and partner-built agents, including 12 new Microsoft-built agents available in preview and over 30 partner-built agents extending protection end-to-end. Security Copilot taps into threat intelligence powered by more than 100 trillion signals and supports enterprise knowledge integration to tailor recommendations to each organisation.

Early results highlight a 550% faster detection of malicious emails via the Phishing Triage Agent and a 204% increase in accuracy for identifying missing Zero Trust policies with the Conditional Access Optimization Agent. Eligible Microsoft 365 E5 customers will have 400 Security Compute Units per month for every 1,000 user licences, up to 10,000 SCUs monthly, with an option to scale later at $6 per SCU on a pay-as-you-go basis.
