THE UK government has launched a Cyber Resilience Pledge with over 60 businesses signing up, including notable companies like Marks & Spencer, Microsoft UK, and Vodafone. This initiative aims to enhance cybersecurity within organizations by introducing board-level accountability and implementing the Cyber Governance Code of Practice. Signatories must also enroll in the NCSC’s Early Warning alert service and emphasize Cyber Essentials certification across their supply chains.
The pledge targets medium and large organizations but anticipates broader improvements in overall cyber resilience. Other initiatives in the government's cybersecurity strategy include the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill and the Cyber Action Plan to ensure accountability and resilience in critical national infrastructure.
