'JackFix' Attack Circumvents ClickFix Mitigations

The article discusses a new variant of the ClickFix attack, named 'JackFix', which enhances psychological manipulation and circumvents existing security mitigations. JackFix employs anxiety-inducing phishing tactics, such as fake Windows blue screens, to trick victims into executing malicious commands. It also uses advanced techniques to evade detection by security software, including encoding malicious scripts and employing content-based filtering for URLs.

Reports of JackFix have surged, particularly in the US and Europe. While some ClickFix mitigations remain effective, organizations can further protect themselves by disabling the Windows Run feature for certain users.
