CHIEF Information Security Officers (CISOs) are facing increasing pressures due to the complexity of cyber threats and the advent of AI technologies. A survey by ISSA and Omdia reveals that 68% of cybersecurity professionals find their jobs more challenging than two years ago, with 55% reporting a rise in workload and complexity. As a result, many CISOs are moving towards part-time roles, with the percentage of companies employing full-time CISOs dropping to 63% from 76% in 2024.
While AI poses risks, many CISOs are eager to leverage AI for streamlined operations. The tension between managing security and evolving tech landscapes is driving significant change, with organizations needing deep cybersecurity knowledge to navigate these challenges.
