Windows 11 25H2 Preview Build Released: Here’s What’s New
Windows 11, version 25H2 (Build 26200.5074) is now rolling out to the Release Preview Channel as an enablement package, giving enthusiasts and enterprises an early look ahead of general availability later in 2025. according to Microsoft, the update is minimal in new features but adds several refinements while sharing a common servicing branch with the 24H2 release through an eKB.
The changes include the removal of legacy components such as PowerShell 2.0 and the Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line (WMIC), pushing organisations towards modern, secure management tools. For business and education devices, IT admins can remove select pre-installed Microsoft Store apps via Group Policy or MDM CSP, helping streamline devices to match workflows.
Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel can access the 25H2 preview via the “seeker” experience in Windows Update, with ISO images expected to be published next week for clean installs and VM testing. Eligible devices simply need to meet Windows 11 hardware requirements and navigate to Settings > Windows Update to opt in, after which monthly servicing updates will continue as usual.
