Alumni, Student, and Staff Information Stolen From Harvard University
Harvard University reported a data breach affecting personal information of alumni, donors, students, and staff, discovered on November 18. Unauthorized access was gained to systems in the Alumni Affairs and Development department. Harvard has blocked the attacker's access and is investigating with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement. Compromised data includes addresses, emails, phone numbers, and donation details, but not Social Security numbers or financial information.
Notifications were sent to affected individuals, but the total number impacted is still undetermined. This breach follows a similar incident at Princeton University and is linked to a phone phishing attack.
