La Poste outage after a cyber attack disrupts digital banking and online services
La Poste experienced a major network incident that knocked its information systems offline, disrupting digital banking and online services for millions of customers. The disruption rendered several platforms inaccessible, including the main website, the mobile app, the digital identity service, and the Digiposte document storage platform, though counter services remained available for banking and postal transactions.
French media reports cited a massive DDoS attack, with La Poste stating that online services were inaccessible but that customer data was not affected. The incident followed a separate attack on France’s Interior Ministry, with officials saying attackers gained access to some document files but no evidence of serious data compromise. The statement published on Facebook emphasised that the situation was being actively addressed and that teams were mobilised to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
