Internet Yiff Machine: We hacked 93GB of "anonymous" crime tips

P3 Global Intel, a company providing tip management for Crime Stoppers and law enforcement, experienced a security breach when hackers named "Internet Yiff Machine" released 93GB of sensitive data from its system. This data includes 8.3 million tips, personal information of individuals accused by tipsters, and communication between law enforcement and tipsters.

The breach raises concerns about the inadequacy of P3's security measures, evidenced by the hackers' ability to access the entire database without any issues. Although P3 has not confirmed the breach, law enforcement agencies are acting cautiously, advising against using its tip submission platform. The leaked data could impact over 35,000 schools using P3's services, which include sensitive information on issues like bullying and suicide threats.
