cdnjs fully migrated to Cloudflare's Developer Platform

As of June 23, 2026, cdnjs operates solely on Cloudflare's Developer Platform, showcasing its evolution to meet platform challenges. Cdnjs, a widely used CDN for JavaScript and CSS, serves about 9 billion requests daily, with a 98.6% cache hit rate and a market share of 48.3%. Originating in 2011, it transitioned to Cloudflare's hosting in 2019 to enhance its infrastructure. The migration aimed to improve internal processes that had become cumbersome under the previous architecture.

Key pain points included lack of observability across systems and maintaining two separate storage solutions. The new architecture relies on Cloudflare tools like R2 for file content and Workflows for an efficient ingestion pipeline, allowing better handling of file processing and metadata access. Post-migration, the focus shifts to possibly supporting modern ES module formats.
