Bugcrowd Acquires Application Security Firm Mayhem

Bugcrowd has announced its acquisition of Mayhem Security, an application security firm, with financial terms undisclosed. According to SecurityWeek, Bugcrowd says the deal has nearly doubled its valuation, a figure tied to the integration of Mayhem’s capabilities. Mayhem, formerly named ForAllSecure, has raised $36 million and has developed AI-powered API security, code security, and dynamic SBOM products.

Bugcrowd says Mayhem’s technology will be integrated with its human‑driven crowdsourced testing to help organisations ship secure software by continuously finding and prioritising vulnerabilities and validating their remediation. The aim is to build an adaptive security platform that unites human creativity with machine intelligence and reduces customers’ attack surface, as stated by Bugcrowd’s CEO Dave Gerry. Bugcrowd previously acquired UK‑based external attack surface management and pentesting firm Informer to enhance its offering, the article notes.
