Bridgestone Confirms Cyberattack Impacts Manufacturing Facilities Across North America
Bridgestone Americas has confirmed a cyberattack that has impacted manufacturing facilities across North America, including two plants in Aiken County, South Carolina. The tyre maker says it has launched a comprehensive forensic analysis and believes it contained the breach in its early stages, with business operations continuing normally across its facilities.
In Joliette, an estimated 1,400 employees have been affected, and the mayor stated that an internal memo had been distributed while assuring that customer data remained secure. No information has been compromised, according to Joliette Mayor Pierre-Luc Bellerose. Contingency measures have been implemented to minimise disruption, with employees affected by the incident offered a choice between staying to perform preventive maintenance tasks at full pay or taking the day off without pay.

According to Bridgestone Americas, the investigation into the cyber incident is continuing and the exact scope and full recovery timeline remain unclear as local officials offer assistance if needed. 4 September 2025.
