Malwarebytes for Mac now has smarter, deeper scans

Malwarebytes has upgraded its Mac protection, delivering smarter, deeper scans that think faster and search more of the system to hunt down threats such as infostealers and zero-hour malware, while preserving the familiar user experience. The update introduces three new scan options—Quick scan, Threat scan (now the default), and Custom scan that lets you pick exact folders and external drives—designed to fit how you work.

It also brings a major performance boost with up to 90% lower CPU usage, making scans feel faster and more responsive. The first enhanced scan may take longer as it covers more of the system, and external drive scanning plus WiFi security alerts help ensure no viruses linger. No action is required to benefit: ensure you’re on the latest version (5.18.2) via Profile → About Malwarebytes and the Check for updates option, according to Malwarebytes.
