THE article introduces Precursor, a new client-side verification system by Cloudflare designed to enhance bot detection by continuously collecting behavioral signals as users interact with web applications. Precursor complements existing tools like Turnstile, offering deeper insights into user behavior through session-based data collection. It captures movement, keyboard activity, and other interactions to differentiate between human and bot traffic by evaluating consistent behavior over time.
This approach helps improve fraud detection precision and reduce unnecessary interruptions for legitimate users. Additionally, Precursor integrates seamlessly into existing Cloudflare services and is currently available for free until a general release.
