Apple Planning Touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro with M6 Chip for Late 2026 Debut

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is poised to add touchscreen functionality to its MacBook Pro lineup, a move that would mark a major shift for the company. The models, codenamed K114 and K116, are expected to debut between late 2026 and early 2027 and will be powered by an M6 chip with OLED displays supporting multi-touch input.

The design would feature reinforced hinges and upgraded screen hardware to ensure display stability during touch interactions, while the laptops would retain the trackpad and keyboard in a thinner, lighter chassis. The plan also involves removing the notch in favour of a punch-hole camera to preserve additional screen real estate.

This development follows Ming-Chi Kuo’s forecast that Apple would integrate touch technology into future MacBook models, further blurring the line between MacBook and iPad, a move that could redefine the boundaries of Apple’s notebook lineup. If confirmed, it would represent a significant user-experience revolution in the MacBook’s history.
