Discord to start requiring face scan or ID to access adult content

On 10 February 2026, DataBreaches[.]Net reported that Discord will soon require global age verification to access adult content, either via a face scan or by uploading a form of ID. Users can upload a photo of their ID to confirm age or take a video selfie, with AI used to estimate facial age. Discord said information used for age checks will not be stored by the platform or the verification company. It also stated that face scans would not be collected and that ID uploads would be deleted after verification is complete. According to The BBC, these changes are set to roll out to all users.
