GitHub Adds Sign in with Apple for Seamless Login and Anonymous Email Protection

October 9, 2025. The article notes that GitHub recently introduced Google account sign-in and has now added support for Apple ID login, according to GitHub now supports social login with Apple, enhancing convenience within the Apple ecosystem. On iOS and iPadOS, users can authenticate instantly using the Apple ID already linked to their device, with only a brief verification required.

Notably, Apple’s sign-in system includes a privacy feature that lets users generate a randomized relay email address, so registrants can sign up without revealing their real Apple ID; the third‑party platform only receives this anonymised address. The feature supports creating new accounts and linking existing GitHub accounts to an Apple ID, and users can associate multiple authentication providers, such as Google and Apple. Finally, the article urges all users to enable GitHub’s Two-Factor Authentication and securely store their account recovery keys to bolster security.
