Internet measurement, resilience, and transparency: a week of stories from Cloudflare Research and friends
The Cloudflare Research team is wrapping a week of stories around Internet measurement, resilience, and transparency, sharing how they test ideas in real time, collaborate with academia and standards bodies, and publish openly to help improve the Internet. The event ties to the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)’s annual Internet Measurement Conference, a venue for new work that measures and analyses Internet behaviour, performance, and evolution.
Over the week, Cloudflare will dive into Internet measurement data, frame Internet resilience, and explore cryptographic protocols for an increasingly automated web, including discussions about Web Bot Auth and post-quantum deployment progress such as Merkle Tree Certificates. A transparent look into Cloudflare’s network will examine what a connection actually means across their systems, including how they detect shared IP space, defend against DDoS, and optimise cache efficiency. The posts also consider the rise of AI agents and crawlers and the ongoing need to balance safety, privacy, and resilience as the Internet evolves.
