CYBERSECURITY professionals exhibit ambivalent feelings towards AI, viewing it as both a significant opportunity and a threatening risk. A global ISC2 survey highlights that while AI is seen as having the potential for the greatest positive impact on cybersecurity, it is also perceived as presenting the most considerable negative challenges. Specifically, 52% of respondents identified AI as a negative development, with social engineering being a major concern.
Despite fears, 41% believe AI will enhance their work, eliminating repetitive tasks and possibly creating more jobs in cybersecurity. Some experts advocate that AI could streamline processes, allowing professionals to focus on higher-value tasks, while others caution about the risks associated with rapid, uncritical adoption of AI technologies.
