THE CyCOS Project, a UK initiative to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with cybersecurity, is expanding from two to seven communities as it transitions leadership to the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec). Launched in late 2023, CyCOS provides peer-led support to SMEs through webinars, in-person meetings, and an online platform for resources and expert Q&A.
Given the insufficient awareness among SME leaders concerning cybersecurity guidance, the project aims to enhance cyber resilience through community-driven help. Challenges persist, including the need for proper IT and cybersecurity provider choices and improving access to essential resources for effective cyber hygiene.
