ALIEXPRESS has been found using an outdated fingerprinting technique that involves sending inaudible sounds to browsers, impacting users' experience with Bluetooth headphones. Researcher Matthew Callaghan discovered this while investigating odd audio behavior on the AliExpress site. The method involves highly obfuscated scripts that analyze audio output from browsers to create unique signatures based on browser and device characteristics.
Firefox and Chrome have since implemented measures to counter this technique, but AliExpress continues to utilize multiple other fingerprinting methods, raising concerns about user privacy.
