CrowdStrike to Buy Identity Security Firm SGNL for $740 Million in Cash
CrowdStrike is to buy identity security startup SGNL in a deal valued at $740 million, paid predominantly in cash, according to SecurityWeek. Founded in 2021 and based in Palo Alto, SGNL has built an “identity-first” security solution that eliminates static credentials and delivers real-time automated access decisions.
The acquisition aims to bolster CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform with continuous identity protection, enabling access for human, non-human, and AI identities to be granted or revoked based on real-time risk. SGNL has raised $42 million in funding, including a $30 million Series A in February 2025, and the deal is expected to close in CrowdStrike’s first quarter of FY’27, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory clearances.
The story notes that the deal follows market growth in identity security, with IDC projecting the market to grow from about $29 billion in 2025 to $56 billion by 2029. 8 January 2026.
