IBM Infrastructure: Continuous Risk & Compliance

IBM Z 17 and LinuxONE 5 underpin a shift to AI-powered, proactive infrastructure security, with Trend Micro noting real-time telemetry, AI acceleration, and quantum-safe infrastructure to support unified risk and compliance monitoring across mainframe, cloud, containers, and enterprise workloads.

The collaboration aims to deliver AI-driven threat detection built into the Telum II processor, along with real-time analysis of transactional data to spot anomalies before they escalate, and seamless integration with Trend Vision One for predictive risk scoring and governance at scale. Private Preview will run on 30 September, with General Availability on 30 November 2025, covering Endpoint Security anti-malware initially and adding web reputation, firewall, and other modules subsequently.

An ESG study highlighted tangible value from adopting a proactive risk and compliance strategy, with organizations reporting an average saving of $1.3 million driven by a 99.6% reduction in alert volume and 65% faster threat response times. According to the Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), part of Informa Tech Target, IBM and Trend Micro are co-creating a security ecosystem that consolidates telemetry into a common data lake to inform actions for SecOps automation.
