Lumia Security Raises $18 Million for AI Security and Governance
Lumia Security has announced an $18 million seed funding round led by Team8, with additional support from New Era, to accelerate the development of its AI security and governance platform. Founded in 2024 and headquartered in New York and Tel Aviv, the Israeli cybersecurity startup provides visibility and control over how employees use AI agents.
According to Lumia, its platform analyses action, intent, context and content of AI interactions between employees or autonomous agents and AI tools, delivering continuous exposure risk evaluation and policy enforcement across thousands of AI applications without requiring endpoint modifications. The funds will be used to expand engineering and research teams, deepen integrations with AI ecosystems, and scale go-to-market efforts.
In addition to the funding, Lumia announced the appointment of Admiral Michael Rogers to its advisory board. Lumia was founded by Omri Iluz and Bobi Gilburd, the former CTO of Israel’s military intelligence arm Unit 8200.
