Qualcomm and Google Partner to Bring AI to the Car

Qualcomm has announced an expanded collaboration with Google Cloud to bring Google Cloud’s AI Agent for autonomous vehicles into a hybrid AI framework. Seeding on-device systems with cloud-assisted computation aims to boost AI performance while keeping rapid responsiveness, and to incorporate Google’s Gemini AI technology into vehicles from numerous OEMs.

The partnership centres on a “hybrid AI architecture” that combines the Snapdragon automotive platform’s on‑device power with cloud-based models hosted by Google Cloud, delivering low latency and scalable capability growth. Google Cloud’s AI Agent services and Gemini model will be integrated to enable automakers to craft differentiated in‑car experiences, including multimodal dialogue and ongoing optimisation.

For manufacturers, the Snapdragon Digital Chassis enables faster feature introduction by blending hardware–software capabilities, while cloud models continue to evolve after vehicles roll off the assembly line, according to Google Cloud.
