Tor Browser 15.0.1 Update Patches Several High-Risk Security Flaws
The Tor Project has released a fresh update, with Tor Browser 15.0.1 now available and addressing several high-risk security issues that could have compromised users’ privacy. According to The Tor Project, the update is recommended for all users who want to stay secure on the internet and keep their information private, and downloads are available from the official Tor Project website or their distribution directory.
The release covers all supported operating systems—Windows, macOS, Linux and Android—and swaps in Firefox 140.5.0esr as the base for Windows, macOS and Linux, while also backporting other security changes from Firefox 145. NoScript has been upgraded to version 13.4, with bug fixes in privacy mode search and an alphabetically ordered list of search engines, including the No AI DuckDuckGo option.
Android’s GeckoView has been updated for better performance, and critical fixes for browser extensions, build systems and signing tools were included, along with updates to the Go programming language across several platforms. Users are advised to update to 15.0.1 as soon as possible to stay protected from new attacks and security flaws.
