THE White House has introduced the Gold Eagle initiative, aimed at enhancing the coordination for detecting, prioritizing, and patching vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure. This initiative connects open source software maintainers with critical infrastructure operators to streamline reporting and remediation using existing federal resources.
In collaboration with CISA, the Treasury Department, and the Department of War, Gold Eagle seeks to minimize duplicate vulnerability scans and provide prioritized remediation guidance. It was initiated following Executive Order 14409, which mandated an AI-enabled clearinghouse to address software vulnerabilities. Despite its launch, details about participating companies or specific AI models used remain undisclosed.
