AWS re:Invent: Agentic AI Launches with Nova Sonic Voice; Partners with Google Cloud on Networking
At AWS’s annual re:Invent 2025 conference in Las Vegas, AWS unveiled a major series of enhancements to its Amazon Connect contact centre platform, notably introducing “Agentic AI,” a new generation of autonomous AI agents powered by the Nova Sonic voice model. These agents can converse naturally, reason independently, and execute tasks on behalf of human operators.
In a rare infrastructure move, AWS also announced a partnership with Google Cloud to preview AWS Interconnect – Multicloud, a cross-cloud networking solution designed to simplify private, high-bandwidth connections between the two providers. The update also includes observability features for AI agents, enabling enterprises to see what the AI understood, which tools it invoked, and how it arrived at decisions.
Deepgram announced that its real-time speech technologies will be integrated into AWS’s ecosystem, including Amazon SageMaker AI, Amazon Connect, and Amazon Lex, for real-time voice applications with sub-second latency.
