Apple focuses AI on practical Siri and privacy at WWDC 2026

At WWDC 2026, Apple executives Craig Federighi and Greg Joswiak discussed the company's AI philosophy, emphasizing that Apple develops AI tools based on genuine user needs rather than for technology's sake. They highlighted improvements in Siri, which focuses on practical assistance instead of emotional engagement. Apple also introduced enhanced privacy measures, notably an automatic password change feature that retains user data locally.

The executives stressed a commitment to child safety by allowing parents to configure iPhones for minimal functionality for children. Joswiak reflected on Apple's evolution, asserting that its core culture remains centered on creating quality products.
