Adobe Premieres Mobile Video Editor Directly in YouTube Shorts
At Adobe Max 2025, Adobe announced a landmark partnership with Google to integrate the core capabilities of Adobe Premiere Mobile directly into the YouTube Shorts editing workflow. According to Adobe, YouTube creators will soon find a new option within the Shorts editing interface labeled “Edit in Adobe Premiere,” giving users access to professional‑grade tools such as multi‑track sequencing and advanced colour grading, plus generative sound effects and AI‑powered features driven by Adobe’s Firefly model.
Premiere Mobile, which debuted on iOS in September, currently requires creators to export their content before uploading it to YouTube, but the new integration will streamline that process with a seamless editing‑to‑upload workflow. Beyond core features, Adobe noted exclusive options for Shorts creators, including a curated collection of special effects, presets and transition effects, and a library of Shorts‑optimised templates or the ability to share custom templates within the community.
Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Digital Media, described YouTube as “the world’s biggest stage,” emphasising that bringing Premiere Mobile’s editing tools to millions of YouTube creators will help craft exceptional content and reach new audiences.
