NIKE Probing Potential Security Incident as Hackers Threaten to Leak Data: the WorldLeaks cybercrime group claims to have stolen information from the footwear and apparel giant’s systems and lists Nike as a victim on its Tor-based leak site. The attackers suggest data will be released publicly on 24 January 2026 unless a ransom is paid, though they have not specified what type or how much data was taken.
Nike told SecurityWeek that it is investigating a potential cyber security incident and is actively assessing the situation. WorldLeaks emerged in 2025 following the shutdown of Hunters International, shifting focus from file-encrypting malware to data theft and extortion; at the time of writing the WorldLeaks site names nearly 120 alleged victims, including Dell.
The development comes soon after Under Armour announced it is investigating a data breach affecting customers’ email addresses, highlighting a broader industry concern about cyber threats targeting brand and consumer data.
