SECURITYSCORECARD has acquired Driftnet, LTD., adding another layer of threat intelligence to its third-party risk management platform. Driftnet is a UK-based internet scanning and search engine startup that aims to provide organisations with real time threat intelligence, allowing users to search by domain, IP address, or organisation to uncover open ports, potential vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, or attack campaigns that may threaten their network.
The deal is described as boosting visibility into third-party ecosystems, which are increasingly seen as vectors for supply-chain attacks, with SecurityScorecard noting that almost one-third of breaches are third party-related in its own research. The article states that financial terms were not disclosed and that Driftnet will continue its collaborations with CERTs in the US, EU, and UK and with university partnerships.
According to SecurityScorecard press release, the acquisition also aims to align threat hunters, SOC teams, and TPRM practitioners for proactive breach detection. SecurityScorecard has previously launched TITAN AI and acquired HyperComply to automate vendor risk workflows, and the Driftnet acquisition could round out its offerings with deeper threat intelligence.
